Mountains Of Antarctica
The Antarctic Mountains are a major mountain range located in the continent of Antarctica. They stretch over 3,500 kilometers (about 2,200 miles) and are primarily covered by ice and snow. These mountains are divided into several ranges, including the Ellsworth Mountains and the Transantarctic Mountains, which separate East Antarctica from West Antarctica.
The peaks of the Antarctic Mountains are some of the highest in the world, with Mount Vinson being the tallest at 4,892 meters (16,050 feet). The harsh climate and remote location make these mountains one of the least explored regions on Earth, yet they play a crucial role in the global climate system.
