Mount Taranaki
Mount Taranaki is a dormant stratovolcano located on the west coast of New Zealand's North Island. It rises to an elevation of 2,518 meters (8,261 feet) and is known for its symmetrical cone shape. The mountain is surrounded by the Egmont National Park, which features diverse ecosystems and numerous hiking trails.
The last major eruption of Mount Taranaki occurred around 1854, and since then, it has remained quiet. The mountain is a significant cultural symbol for the Māori people and is often associated with various legends and stories. Its stunning landscapes attract many visitors each year.
