Mount Ruapehu
Mount Ruapehu is an active stratovolcano located in the central North Island of New Zealand. It is the highest peak in the North Island, standing at 2,797 meters (9,177 feet). The mountain is part of the Tongariro National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage site, and is known for its stunning landscapes and diverse ecosystems.
The volcano has erupted several times in the past, with its most recent significant eruption occurring in 2007. Mount Ruapehu is also popular for outdoor activities, including skiing and snowboarding in the winter, and hiking and climbing during the warmer months.
