Mount Lassen
Mount Lassen is a prominent volcano located in northern California, part of the Cascade Range. It is known for its unique geothermal features, including hot springs and fumaroles, which are openings in the Earth's crust that emit steam and gases. The mountain stands at an elevation of 10,457 feet and is the southernmost active volcano in the Cascade Volcanic Arc.
The last major eruption of Mount Lassen occurred between 1914 and 1921, making it one of the most recent volcanic events in the contiguous United States. Today, it is protected within Lassen Volcanic National Park, where visitors can explore its diverse landscapes, including lava tubes, meadows, and forests.
