Mount Egmont
Mount Egmont, also known as Taranaki, is a dormant stratovolcano located on the west coast of New Zealand's North Island. It rises to an elevation of 2,518 meters (8,261 feet) and is known for its symmetrical cone shape. The mountain is surrounded by the Egmont National Park, which features diverse ecosystems and numerous hiking trails.
The last significant eruption of Mount Egmont occurred in 1755, and since then, it has remained quiet. The area is culturally significant to the Māori people, who have historical connections to the mountain. Today, it is a popular destination for outdoor activities, including climbing and photography.
