Motor Systems
Motor systems refer to the complex network of structures in the body that control movement. This includes the brain, spinal cord, and muscles, which work together to produce voluntary and involuntary actions. The central nervous system processes information and sends signals to the peripheral nervous system, which then activates the appropriate muscles to carry out movements.
There are two main types of motor systems: somatic motor systems, which control voluntary movements like walking or writing, and autonomic motor systems, which manage involuntary actions such as heartbeat and digestion. These systems ensure that the body can respond effectively to various stimuli and maintain balance and coordination.
