Morrison shelters
A Morrison shelter is a type of air raid shelter designed for use during World War II in the United Kingdom. Named after the then Minister of Home Security, Herbert Morrison, these shelters were intended for families to use in their homes during bombings. They were made of steel and concrete, providing protection from falling debris and shrapnel.
The shelter was typically placed in a living room or basement and could accommodate several people. It featured a sturdy design with a table on top, allowing it to double as a piece of furniture when not in use. The Morrison shelter was an important part of civilian defense during the war.
