Moroccan Independence
Moroccan Independence refers to the process through which Morocco gained freedom from French and Spanish colonial rule. This movement began in the early 20th century, gaining momentum after World War II. The Istiqlal Party, founded in 1944, played a significant role in advocating for independence, leading to widespread protests and demands for self-rule.
On March 2, 1956, Morocco officially achieved independence when France agreed to relinquish control. Shortly after, Spain also ceded its territories in the north and south, completing the country's liberation. This marked the beginning of a new era for Morocco, allowing it to establish its own government and pursue national development.
