Mongolian wrestling
Mongolian wrestling, known as Bökh, is a traditional sport that has been practiced for centuries in Mongolia. It is characterized by its unique techniques and rules, where the goal is to throw the opponent to the ground. Wrestlers wear a special outfit called a zodog and shuudag, which consists of a short jacket and tight shorts, allowing for freedom of movement.
The sport is often featured during the annual Naadam Festival, which celebrates Mongolian culture and heritage. Wrestlers compete in various weight classes, and matches can be held in open-air arenas. Success in Bökh is highly respected, and champions are celebrated as national heroes.
