Bökh
Bökh is a traditional Mongolian wrestling style that has been practiced for centuries. It is a key part of the Naadam Festival, which celebrates Mongolian culture and includes other sports like horse racing and archery. Wrestlers compete in a circular arena, and the goal is to throw the opponent to the ground, showcasing strength, technique, and strategy.
The sport emphasizes respect and sportsmanship, with rituals performed before matches, such as the Eagle Dance. Wrestlers wear a unique costume called a zodog and shuudag, which consists of a short jacket and shorts. Bökh is not only a physical contest but also a cultural symbol of Mongolian identity.
