Mongolian script
The Mongolian script is a writing system used for the Mongolian language. It was developed in the 13th century and is written vertically from top to bottom. The script is derived from the Uighur script and has undergone various modifications over the centuries.
In addition to its historical significance, the Mongolian script is still in use today, particularly in Inner Mongolia, a region of China. It coexists with the Cyrillic script, which was adopted in the 20th century for writing Mongolian in Mongolia. Efforts are ongoing to promote and preserve the traditional script.
