Mola mola
The Mola mola, commonly known as the ocean sunfish, is one of the heaviest bony fish in the world, weighing up to 2,200 pounds (1,000 kg). It has a unique flattened body shape and can grow up to 10 feet (3 meters) in length. These fish are often found in warm and temperate oceans, where they enjoy basking in the sun near the surface.
Mola molas primarily feed on jellyfish, but they also consume other soft-bodied marine creatures. Their large dorsal and anal fins help them swim, while their lack of a traditional tail fin gives them a distinctive appearance. Despite their size, they are known to be gentle and harmless to humans.
