Modern Irish
Modern Irish, or Gaeilge, is a Celtic language primarily spoken in Ireland. It is one of the official languages of the country and is recognized as a minority language in Northern Ireland. The language has evolved significantly since its early forms, with influences from Old Irish and Middle Irish, and is now taught in schools and used in media.
The language has seen a revival in recent years, with increased interest in Gaeltacht regions, where Irish is spoken as a community language. Efforts to promote and preserve Modern Irish include cultural events, literature, and government initiatives aimed at encouraging its use in everyday life.
