Pomo
Pomo refers to a group of Native American tribes located in Northern California, primarily around the area of the Russian River. The Pomo people are known for their rich cultural heritage, which includes traditional crafts, music, and dance. They historically relied on the region's natural resources for sustenance, engaging in fishing, hunting, and gathering.
The Pomo language family consists of several distinct languages, with Pomoan being the most recognized. Today, efforts are being made to preserve and revitalize Pomo languages and traditions, as many aspects of their culture face challenges due to historical events and modernization.
