Miep Gies was a Dutch woman born on February 15, 1909, in Vienna, Austria. She is best known for her role in helping the Frank family during World War II by providing them with food, supplies, and support while they were in hiding from the Nazis in Amsterdam.
After the war, Miep discovered Anne Frank's diary, which documented the life of Anne during their time in hiding. Miep preserved the diary and later helped publish it, ensuring that Anne's story and the horrors of the Holocaust would be remembered. Miep Gies passed away on January 11, 2010.
