Michael II
Michael II was a Byzantine Emperor who ruled from 820 to 829 AD. He was the founder of the Amorian dynasty and came to power after a coup that overthrew the previous emperor, Leo V. Michael II is known for his efforts to stabilize the empire and for his military campaigns against the Arabs.
During his reign, Michael II focused on restoring the economy and strengthening the military. He also dealt with internal conflicts, particularly regarding the ongoing religious disputes between Iconoclasts and Iconodules. His reign marked a period of relative peace and consolidation for the Byzantine Empire.
