Leo V
Leo V was a Byzantine Emperor who ruled from 813 to 820 AD. He was known as Leo the Armenian and came to power after a coup that overthrew the previous emperor, Michael I. His reign was marked by military campaigns against the Arabs and internal strife within the empire.
Leo V is also remembered for his controversial policies regarding iconoclasm, which involved the destruction of religious images. His efforts to promote iconoclasm led to significant opposition from religious leaders and the populace, ultimately contributing to his downfall when he was assassinated in 820 AD.
