Metropol Parasol
The Metropol Parasol is a large wooden structure located in Seville, Spain. Completed in 2011, it was designed by the German architect Jürgen Mayer and is known for its unique, mushroom-like shape. The structure serves as a sunshade for the Plaza de la Encarnación and houses a market, an archaeological museum, and a viewing platform.
Standing at 26 meters tall, the Metropol Parasol is made from a special type of laminated wood called Metsä Wood. Its design aims to blend modern architecture with the historical context of the city. The structure has become a popular tourist attraction, offering panoramic views of Seville.
