Metatarsalen
The term "Metatarsalen" refers to the five long bones located in the middle part of the foot, known as the metatarsals. These bones connect the tarsal bones at the back of the foot to the phalanges, which are the bones in the toes. Each metatarsal plays a crucial role in supporting body weight and facilitating movement.
Metatarsalen are numbered from one to five, starting with the big toe. They are essential for activities such as walking, running, and jumping, as they help maintain balance and stability. Injuries or conditions affecting the metatarsals can lead to pain and difficulty in mobility.
