Messier 72
Messier 72 is a globular cluster located in the constellation of Aquarius. It is approximately 53,000 light-years away from Earth and contains hundreds of thousands of stars. This cluster is relatively faint and is best observed with telescopes.
Discovered by Pierre Méchain in 1780, Messier 72 is designated as M72 in the Messier catalog. It has an apparent magnitude of about 10.5, making it challenging to see with the naked eye. The cluster is estimated to be around 13 billion years old, providing insights into the early universe.
