Mercury Missions
Mercury Missions refer to space exploration efforts aimed at studying the planet Mercury. The first successful mission was Mariner 10, launched in 1973, which provided the first close-up images of Mercury and revealed its surface features. It flew by the planet three times, gathering valuable data about its atmosphere and magnetic field.
The most recent mission, MESSENGER, launched in 2004, orbited Mercury from 2011 to 2015. It conducted detailed observations, mapping the surface and analyzing its composition. MESSENGER's findings have significantly enhanced our understanding of Mercury's geology and its role in the solar system.
