MESSENGER
MESSENGER was a NASA space probe launched in 2004 to study the planet Mercury. It was the first spacecraft to orbit Mercury, providing valuable data about its surface, composition, and magnetic field. The mission aimed to enhance our understanding of the planet's geology and its history within the solar system.
The spacecraft successfully entered orbit around Mercury in 2011 and operated until 2015. During its mission, MESSENGER captured thousands of images and collected extensive scientific data, revealing details about Mercury's thin atmosphere and its unusual geological features. The mission significantly advanced our knowledge of this inner planet.
