Menahem Begin was an Israeli politician and the sixth Prime Minister of Israel, serving from 1977 to 1983. He was born on August 16, 1913, in Poland and later moved to Palestine. Begin was a leader of the Irgun, a Jewish paramilitary organization, and played a significant role in the fight for Israeli independence. As Prime Minister, Begin is best known for signing the Camp David Accords in 1978, which established a peace treaty between Israel and Egypt. His government focused on security and settlement expansion in the West Bank. Begin passed away on March 9, 1992.
