Mealworm
Mealworms are the larval stage of the darkling beetle, scientifically known as Tenebrio molitor. They are commonly found in decaying organic matter and are often used as a food source for pets, birds, and reptiles. Mealworms are rich in protein, making them a popular choice for animal feed and even human consumption in some cultures.
These larvae are typically yellow-brown in color and can grow up to 2.5 centimeters long. Mealworms are easy to raise and require minimal space, which has led to their increasing popularity in sustainable food production and as an alternative protein source in the face of global food challenges.
