Mazandarani language
The Mazandarani language is an Iranian language spoken primarily in the Mazandaran province of northern Iran. It belongs to the Northwestern Iranian branch of the Indo-Iranian languages and has several dialects. Mazandarani is closely related to other regional languages, such as Gilaki and Persian, but it has distinct phonetic and grammatical features.
Mazandarani is used in everyday communication among local communities and has a rich oral tradition, including folklore and poetry. While it is not widely taught in schools, efforts are being made to preserve and promote the language through cultural initiatives and local media.
