Maturidism
Maturidism is a theological school of thought within Islam that emerged in the 10th century, founded by the scholar Abu Mansur al-Maturidi. It emphasizes the use of reason alongside revelation in understanding faith and the nature of God. Maturidism is particularly influential among Sunni Muslims, especially in regions like Central Asia and Turkey.
Maturidism asserts that human reason can discern moral truths and the existence of God, which complements the teachings of the Qur'an and the Hadith. This approach allows for a more rational interpretation of Islamic beliefs, distinguishing it from other theological schools, such as Ash'arism.
