Maturidi School
The Maturidi School is a theological tradition within Sunni Islam, founded by the scholar Abu Mansur al-Maturidi in the 10th century. It emphasizes the use of reason alongside revelation in understanding faith and morality. Maturidi thought seeks to establish a balance between rationality and divine guidance, asserting that human intellect can discern certain truths about God and ethics.
This school is particularly influential in regions such as Central Asia and among the Hanafi school of jurisprudence. Maturidi scholars argue that belief in God and His attributes can be understood through rational inquiry, while also affirming the importance of the Qur'an and the teachings of the Prophet Muhammad.
