Maryland General Assembly
The Maryland General Assembly is the legislative body of the state of Maryland. It is a bicameral institution, meaning it has two chambers: the Maryland House of Delegates and the Maryland Senate. The General Assembly meets annually in Annapolis, the state capital, to discuss and pass laws, as well as to address state budgets and policies.
Members of the General Assembly are elected by Maryland residents. The House of Delegates consists of 141 delegates, while the Senate has 47 senators. Together, they work to represent the interests of their constituents and ensure that state laws reflect the needs of the community.
