Governor of Maryland
The Governor of Maryland is the head of the state government and is responsible for enforcing state laws, overseeing the executive branch, and managing the state's budget. The governor also has the power to sign or veto legislation passed by the Maryland General Assembly, which is the state's legislative body.
Elected for a four-year term, the governor can serve a maximum of two consecutive terms. The current governor is a member of the Democratic Party and works closely with other state officials, including the Lieutenant Governor and the Maryland State Legislature, to address issues affecting the state.
