Mary of Geldern
Mary of Geldern was a noblewoman from the 15th century, born around 1426. She was the daughter of Adolph I, Duke of Cleves and Mary of Jülich. Mary became the Duchess of Bavaria-Landshut through her marriage to Henry XVI, Duke of Bavaria-Landshut in 1445, strengthening political ties between their regions.
Mary was known for her role in the Bavarian court and her contributions to the cultural life of the time. She had several children, including George, Duke of Bavaria, who continued the lineage. Her life reflects the intricate alliances formed through marriage among European nobility during the late Middle Ages.
