Mary Of Guise
Mary of Guise was a Scottish queen consort born in 1515 in France. She was the daughter of Claude of France and Antoinette of Bourbon. Mary married James V of Scotland in 1538 and became the mother of Mary, Queen of Scots. After her husband's death in 1542, she served as regent for her daughter.
As regent, Mary of Guise faced challenges from Protestant factions and English interference. She sought to maintain Catholic influence in Scotland and strengthen ties with France. Her reign was marked by political strife, and she died in 1560, leaving a complex legacy in Scottish history.
