Claude of France
Claude of France (1496-1521) was a French princess and the daughter of King Louis XII and Anne of Brittany. She became the Duchess of Brittany through her marriage to Francis I of France in 1514, which helped to strengthen the union between Brittany and the French crown.
As a queen consort, Claude was known for her piety and support of the arts. She played a significant role in promoting the Renaissance in France, encouraging the development of literature and architecture. Claude's legacy continued through her children, including Henry II of France, who succeeded Francis I.
