Marquis of Saluzzo
The Marquis of Saluzzo was a noble title in the region of Saluzzo, located in present-day northern Italy. The marquisate emerged in the 11th century and became an important political entity during the Middle Ages. The rulers of Saluzzo were known for their cultural contributions and alliances, often engaging in conflicts with neighboring states.
The marquisate reached its peak in the 15th century but eventually fell under the control of the Duchy of Savoy in 1548. The title of Marquis of Saluzzo is now largely historical, but it remains significant in the study of Italian nobility and regional history.
