Markab
Markab is a bright star located in the constellation of Pegasus. It is classified as a blue giant and is approximately 139 light-years away from Earth. Markab is notable for its high temperature and luminosity, making it one of the prominent stars in the night sky.
The name "Markab" comes from the Arabic word for "saddle," reflecting its position in the Pegasus constellation, which resembles a winged horse. It is part of the asterism known as the Great Square of Pegasus, which includes three other stars: Alpheratz, Scheat, and Algenib.
