Marie of Hesse-Kassel
Marie of Hesse-Kassel was a German princess born on June 9, 1824. She was the daughter of William I, Landgrave of Hesse-Kassel and Princess Mary of Great Britain. Marie became known for her charitable work and her involvement in various social causes throughout her life.
In 1841, she married Prince Alexander of Hesse, which strengthened ties between the Hesse and Hesse-Kassel families.
