Margaret of Brabant
Margaret of Brabant was a noblewoman born around 1250 in Brabant, a region in present-day Belgium. She was the daughter of Henry III, Duke of Brabant and Marie of Hohenstaufen. Margaret became the Duchess of Brabant through her marriage to John I, Duke of Brabant in 1267, strengthening political ties in the region.
Margaret played a significant role in the governance of Brabant during her husband's reign. After John's death in 1294, she served as regent for their son, John II, Duke of Brabant, ensuring stability and continuity in the duchy. She passed away in 1311, leaving a lasting legacy in her homeland.
