March on Rome
The March on Rome was a significant event that took place in October 1922, when the National Fascist Party, led by Benito Mussolini, organized a mass demonstration to seize power in Italy. Thousands of fascist supporters marched towards the capital, demanding the resignation of the existing government and the appointment of Mussolini as Prime Minister.
The march was a strategic show of strength, and it ultimately led to Mussolini's rise to power. The Italian King, Victor Emmanuel III, decided not to use military force against the marchers, which allowed Mussolini to take control and establish a fascist regime in Italy.
