Mar Muerto
Mar Muerto, or the Dead Sea, is a salt lake bordered by Jordan to the east and Israel and Palestine to the west. It is famous for its high salinity, which makes it nearly impossible for most aquatic life to survive, hence the name "Dead Sea." The lake is also the lowest point on Earth's surface, lying more than 400 meters below sea level.
The Dead Sea is known for its therapeutic properties, attracting visitors seeking relief from various skin conditions and other ailments. Its mineral-rich mud and water are used in spa treatments, while the surrounding area features historical sites, including the ancient city of Qumran, where the Dead Sea Scrolls were discovered.
