Manu (Man)
Manu, often referred to as Man, is a significant figure in various ancient texts and mythologies, particularly in Hinduism. He is considered the progenitor of humanity and the first king, often associated with the Manusmriti, a key ancient legal text. Manu is believed to have survived a great flood, similar to the story of Noah in the Bible, and is credited with establishing the laws and social order for mankind.
In Hindu tradition, there are several Manus, each representing different epochs or cycles of time known as Yugas. Manu's teachings emphasize moral and ethical conduct, guiding human behavior and societal norms. His narratives highlight the importance of righteousness and duty, shaping the cultural and spiritual landscape of ancient Indian civilization.
