Mambi rebels
The Mambi rebels were a group of Cuban insurgents who fought against Spanish colonial rule during the late 19th century. They played a significant role in the Cuban War of Independence, which lasted from 1895 to 1898. The Mambi fighters were known for their guerrilla tactics and their ability to navigate the rugged terrain of the Cuban countryside.
Led by figures such as Máximo Gómez and Antonio Maceo, the Mambi rebels sought to establish an independent Cuba free from Spanish control. Their efforts contributed to the eventual success of the independence movement, leading to the end of Spanish colonial rule in Cuba and the establishment of a republic.
