Malian Politics
Malian politics is characterized by a multi-party system, where various political parties compete for power. The country has experienced significant political instability, including military coups, with the most recent occurring in August 2020. The transitional government aims to restore democratic governance and prepare for future elections.
The National Assembly is the legislative body, while the President serves as the head of state. Mali faces challenges such as ethnic tensions, security issues related to jihadist groups, and economic difficulties. International organizations, including the United Nations and ECOWAS, are involved in efforts to stabilize the region and support democratic processes.
