Malian Civil War
The Malian Civil War began in 2012 when a rebellion by the Tuareg people in northern Mali sought greater autonomy and independence. The conflict escalated when various militant groups, including Islamist factions, took control of key cities, leading to a humanitarian crisis and displacement of thousands.
In response, the Malian government, with support from international forces, launched military operations to regain control. The war has resulted in ongoing violence, political instability, and challenges in governance, affecting the lives of many civilians and complicating efforts for peace and reconciliation in the region.
