Maleic Anhydride
Maleic Anhydride is a colorless, organic compound with a distinctive odor. It is primarily used in the production of various chemicals, including resins, plastics, and agricultural products. Maleic anhydride is produced through the oxidation of benzene or butane and is known for its reactivity, allowing it to easily form derivatives.
In addition to its industrial applications, maleic anhydride plays a role in the synthesis of copolymers and as a crosslinking agent in coatings. It is also utilized in the manufacture of surfactants and as a chemical intermediate in the production of pharmaceuticals and other specialty chemicals.
