Makalu-Barun National Park
Makalu-Barun National Park is located in the eastern region of Nepal, near the border with Tibet. Established in 1992, it covers an area of approximately 1,500 square kilometers and is known for its stunning landscapes, including the towering Makalu mountain, which stands at 8,485 meters. The park is part of the Makalu-Barun Conservation Area and is home to diverse flora and fauna.
The park features a variety of ecosystems, ranging from subtropical forests to alpine meadows. It is a habitat for many endangered species, including the red panda and the snow leopard. Visitors can enjoy trekking, wildlife watching, and experiencing the rich cultural heritage of the local Sherpa and Rai communities.
