Maison Tropicale
Maison Tropicale is a modernist house designed by the architect Jean Prouvé in 1951. It was originally built for the Côte d'Ivoire government as a showcase of prefabricated construction techniques. The structure features a lightweight metal frame and large glass panels, allowing for ample natural light and ventilation.
The house is notable for its innovative design and sustainable materials, reflecting the principles of mid-century modern architecture. After its initial use, Maison Tropicale was relocated to France and is now part of the Musée des Arts Décoratifs in Paris, where it serves as an example of Prouvé's architectural vision.
