Maeda clan
The Maeda clan was a prominent samurai family in Japan during the feudal era, particularly known for their influence in the Kaga Province. They rose to power in the late 16th century under the leadership of Maeda Toshiie, a loyal general of Toyotomi Hideyoshi. The clan played a significant role in the unification of Japan and became one of the wealthiest families during the Edo period.
The Maeda clan established the Kanazawa Domain, which became a cultural and economic center. They were known for their contributions to arts and education, including the development of the Kenroku-en garden, one of Japan's most famous landscapes. Their legacy continues to be celebrated in modern Japan.
