Macedonian King Perseus
Macedonian King Perseus ruled from 179 to 168 BC and was the last king of the Antigonid dynasty. He is known for his efforts to strengthen his kingdom and expand its influence, particularly against the growing power of Rome.
Perseus faced significant challenges during his reign, including internal dissent and military conflicts. His most notable conflict was the Third Macedonian War, which ultimately led to his defeat at the Battle of Pydna in 168 BC. Following his defeat, he was captured and taken to Rome, marking the end of Macedonian independence.
