Luna 24
Luna 24 was a Soviet lunar mission launched on August 9, 1976. It was the last spacecraft in the Luna program and aimed to collect samples from the Moon's surface. The spacecraft successfully landed in the Mare Crisium region and used a drill to gather soil samples, which were then returned to Earth.
The mission was notable for its advanced technology, including a robotic arm and a sample return capsule. Luna 24 returned approximately 170 grams of lunar soil, providing valuable scientific data about the Moon's composition and geology. This mission marked a significant achievement in lunar exploration.
