Luna 20
Luna 20 was a Soviet lunar mission launched on February 12, 1972. Its primary goal was to collect samples from the Moon's surface and return them to Earth. The spacecraft successfully landed in the Mare Crisium region and collected approximately 55 grams of lunar soil.
After gathering the samples, Luna 20 launched back to Earth on February 21, 1972. It safely returned on February 25, delivering the lunar material for scientific study. This mission contributed valuable information about the Moon's geology and helped advance our understanding of lunar formation and history.
