Luna 10
Luna 10 was a Soviet spacecraft launched on March 31, 1966, as part of the Luna program. It became the first spacecraft to orbit the Moon, successfully entering lunar orbit on April 3, 1966. The mission aimed to study the Moon's surface and environment, providing valuable data about its composition and gravitational field.
During its mission, Luna 10 transmitted over 500 photographs and various scientific measurements back to Earth. The spacecraft operated until May 30, 1966, when it was officially declared inactive. Its successful orbit marked a significant milestone in space exploration and contributed to our understanding of the Moon.
